 BACKGROUND
Hello!  Sorry I have taken so long to make my appearnce, just got back from ministry in Philly! So here goes! My name is Teresa and I am 23. I am a part of the Community Life program at Adventures In Missions. I moved to Gainesville, Georgia in September of last year. What a ride it’s been! I’m a Florida girl born and raised in the Tampa bay area. I have a sister who is younger than me and she is my favorite person in the world. I have a very close relationship with my immediate family; mom and dad.  WE have always been close and you may hear me brag on them quite a bit from time to time! I am also very involved with my local church Baylife and have been going for 10 years (a long time but I love it!!). I was very involved with the college ministry at my church loved every minute of it. I come primarily from a Christian home but have really taken personal ownership of what it means to be a Christian and it has radically changed my life, how I act and what I say.  I went to University of South Florida (GO BULLS! I LOVE COLLEGE FOOTBALL) and graduated in 2007.

MY STORY
Sometime after graduating and going through 9-5 life, the Lord put it on my heart for something more. I knew that I wanted my life to matter and to matter for the kingdom.  Life had to mean more than just going through the day to day things and “motions” of being a christian.  I began to seek out organizations to get involved with and came across AIM and their Community Life program.  I was so excited about it. Mostly because I had a heart for discipleship and missions. This was my first time really out on my own and I would be living it with 11 other people. We share everything together from a community account, to chores to food.  Since being a part of Comlife I have learned so much about God, who I am in Christ, and about others.  Part of my Community Life time also includes an internship.  I work in the Admissions department and if you call in you may just get to talk to me on the phone! I am so excited for where my life is headed. I am excited to help lead the Swaziland trip this summer along an amazing couple! I hope to see God’s power displayed even moreso through me and those on my team and to put into practice the things He has highlighted over my time in Community Life. I live to encourage and empower and can’t wait to see how that plays out on the field. I am learning community and what that means and am excited to bring that to the table as well!  I am also excited to seek out the heart of God for our team and in the things we do while we are there! Other than that I plan on attending graduate school in the fall. This is another thing I am so excited about! It was a door that the Lord clearly opened and i am excited to see what happens as I continue to walk through it!

FUN AND RANDOM!
I very much enjoy long conversations as well as listening to people in general. I am a pretty laid back person. I think going out to eat or seeing a movie can be just as fun as hanging out at a friend’s house and watching a movie, playing board games or playing guitar hero. I also absolutely love the beach! I think that comes from growing up in Florida and having a Jamaican family! Other fun facts about me….I love Mike & Ikes….probably more than I should, I get it for gifts. I could eat Chic-fil-a, drink sweet tea, and eat french fries and ice cream everyday…… no seriously. Ice cream and french fries are my two absolute favorite things although I can’t drink milk(yes i realize the irony!) I’m a night owl and love to go to concerts. I am always looking for something new and fun to do or for some new place to explore….if it’s new and different, I may be a little nervous but I’ll take a stab at it. I’m a little afraid of heights…but I’d like to work on that!

That’s me in a nutshell! I am so excited to meet all of you in another month!! Let me know if you need anything I am available for you and praying for you!
